Red Bull BC One!

先週の週末に　Seoulで　Red Bull BC Oneが　ありました。それはせかいの　largest solo B-boy championship. 私は　B-boy (dancer)ですから、competition ビデオをみるのが好きですね。


Red Bull BC One is an annual event. As its name suggests, it is sponsored by energy drink company Red Bull. The winner of this competition gets not only the money and the belt but also the fame and the honor of being the best B-boy in the world. This year's was especially important because it was 10th anniversary of the event, and it was the battle among the past champions - trying to pick the "king of kings."

And guess what? This year's champion turned out to be かんこくの　B-Boy Hong 10!!! すごいですね。私はとてもうれしいです。

Reflection on PE activities

I tried multiple types of PE activities: shadowing, singing, and conversation. Among those I like shadowing the most, and I would like to do more shadowing in the future. I noticed now it doesn't take me as much to shadow a given model. (it used to take me quite a long time, at the beginning of the semester) Also I gladly figured myself becoming more and more comfortable with talking in Japanese as I continue on PE activities.

For the remainder of the semester, I will continue to do PE activities; I am also willing to try something new like tongue-twister or drama shadowing. がんばれ!

gunshot at LAX!!

わたしは　あきやすみに　LAに　かえりました。そして　きのう（どようび）プリンストンに　いきました。My plane was supposed to depart from LA in the morning... but IT WAS DELAYED FOR 4 HOURS. なに？

Apparently one guy from New Jersey opened fire in the airport on きんようび。As a result, LAX closed down for hours on friday, causing delay to all flights.

こん しゅうまつの activity!

First, I had a dance performance on きんようび　at the event Dance vs. Disease. We danced to the following song (it is korean song!). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epQbTLVZGhg

The song is called Love (あい). The choreographyはといも かわいいですよ。

そして　どようびと　にちようびに　わたしわ　べんきようします。らいしゅう　I have 5 midterms。。。

I just wish I get over with the midterms quickly and go into the fall break!

わたしの goal

My goal: to get the pitch of the words correct (I do not know the right pitch for many Japanese words. I often rely on my instinct.)

Activities I will do: listen to lots of Japanese conversations (from anime, J-drama) and shadow them

Pronunciation Exercise...

Goal: to sound as natural as possible when I speak Japanese

Activities: watch Shingekuno kyojin and try to shadow what the characters say, read Japanese letters out loud, listen to Japanese songs....

why I am studying Japanese

In this semester, I chose to study Japanese. I am studying Japanese because one day I want to study abroad in 日本. I am planning to major in architecture, and my favorite architect- 安藤忠雄 (Ando Tadao) is a Japanese. Japanese architecture inspire me a lot, so I want to go take a look at it.

I am enjoying the class except for the fact that I have to wake up early.
